\"\"The Sands of Time for Halloween have run low. And with those last few grains of October come the end of yet another year of Buttkickin’ Halloween Songs.<\/span><\/p>\n

And this makes us at Hokeyblog very, very sad. But it’s one been (pardon the overuse) one BUTTKICKIN’ year for us. We got to feature more songs in 2017 than in any other year, and we got a really good cross-section of styles and genres, although the pseudo-perfectionist in me probably should have leaned maybe a little less on metal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not to mention Hokeyblog got a ton<\/em> of hits from people who were looking to make their Halloween playlist just that much more kickass. Not a Thriller<\/em> or Ghostbuster’s Theme<\/em> or Somebody’s Watching Me<\/em> to be found anywhere. Those tracks are so lame and played out, they hardly abide the telling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which of course makes Iron Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name<\/strong> something of a “safe” selection for our playlist, except that it’s a heavy metal classic and a perfect way to end the Halloween season. I Taken from the classic 1982 album The Number of the Beast<\/em>, the final thoughts of a condemned man on his way to the gallows is a perfectly spookified way to tap out of Halloween 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

So enjoy your All Hallows Eve, my strange and beautiful friends, wherever you are. See you back here in 11 months… or sooner, you know, if I have anything interesting to say that’s actually not Halloween-related. And man do I hope I do.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, let the dark magic of a spirited night fill you with creepy spooky joy and fun and all that stuff.<\/span><\/p>\n
